Maya Angelou is an American autobiographer and poet. She’s an amazing writer and an inspiration for artists everywhere. Her poem I RISE is after the jump.

I RISE

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?

We were shooting a video that will be part of the show last weekend and we’ve got some photo’s from the day. We were looked after by Elias, our faithful DOP and the lovely surroundings of CuriousWorks. Can’t wait to see the final product.
