I love that “He is stating the obvious.” My major qualm with the Aussie take on racism is that it is still questioned. The dominant cultural paradigm keeps the concept in check by denying blatant racism is in fact racism… Of course it’s racism- name it, claim it, know and acknowledge it as a barrier for all people of colour living Down Under.

He is stating the obvious. It will be interesting to see how the referenda on proposed changes to the Constitution go. Australia will be exposed like South Africa, and I hope that nations around the world take not and adopt a similar stance.

Where does anyone think they have the right to insult or physically attack a person they don’t know on the basis of some artificial and antiquated construct like “race”. It should be subject to severe pecuniary and custodial sentence.

Racism is cultural criminality.

I laughed and cried. What a moving engagement with human trials and challenges set in the context of Australia’s shockingly racist perspectives. I enjoyed te show immensely, it has the power that deeply felt personal experiences bring it. I recommend this show for youth too, to engage in understanding and build empathy for the challenges of people of other races and backgrounds.

A powerful show, that uses the combination of great beats, visual stimulation through the stage and videos, to bring alive the senses. Candy’s ability to mix humour with the pain of parts of her journey of life is unique and a talent that I always enjoy watching. Love the show – and have seen it many times! Loved it, the journey of who you are, where your from and who you are now was amazing to hear and see, it was a privilege to come along for the ride, no doubt more to come……
Also the music, the beats, the mixing and the words were just so powerful, it was fantastic!

This lady is my hero… She has an incredible interview with Chris Rock. I discovered her in year 7 and read alllll of her autobiographies…. She widened my world!
